General Objectives
培养的学生身心健康、知识结构合理，有健全的人格、高尚的人文情怀和社会责任感，有一定的批判思维与创新能力、科学研究能力、语言文字表达能力、终身学习能力和组织管理能力，具有国际视野和团队合作精神。
Students are nurtured to be both physically and psychologically healthy. They are expected to have a wholesome personality, a value for humanistic pursuits, and a sense of social responsibility, as well as the ability to think critically and innovatively, good writing and communication skills, an orientation towards life-long learning, and a proficiency in organization and management. Moreover, they should have an international mindset and be able to work well in a team context.

遵循高等教育的基本理念，适应知识经济时代和农村变革对高素质人才培养的要求，培养具有全球视野、系统的经济科学和管理科学的基础理论及相关的农林科学知识，掌握农林经济管理的基本方法和综合技能，熟悉农林经济发展规律和宏观政策环境，为相关专业硕士、博士培养具有“宽厚、复合、开放、创新”特征的优秀后备生源，能胜任在各级政府部门、各类农林企业、教学科研机构从事管理与研究工作的创新型拔尖人才。
To meet the talent demand of knowledge economy and rural transformation, this program aims to cultivate innovative talents who can engage in scientific research and independent professional works.Through the systematic courses, scientific research and field studies, the students will acquire a solid foundation in economics and management theories, professional knowledge, research methodologies and the ability to understanding economic laws and macro policy. They will lay down a foundation for becoming interdisciplinary talent with wide knowledge, open mind and innovative spirits in agricultural economics, which will prepare them for master and doctor study as well as professional work in government divisions, agricultural enterprises, and all kinds of research organizations and institutions.

二、基本要求
II. Basic Requirements
具有宽厚的人文社会科学和自然科学的基本知识、扎实的农林经济管理的基本理论和基础知识，熟悉国内外农业发展的方针、政策和法规，接受有关农林经济管理问题的定性与定量分析方法和涉农经营管理技能的基本训练，具有较强的独立分析和解决农林经济管理实际问题的基本能力，具有一定的创新精神和较强的实践能力。毕业生应获得以下几方面的知识和能力：
With a sound grounding of basic knowledge in both social and natural sciences, theoretic knowledge of agricultural economics and management, an understanding of agricultural development policy domestically and abroad, and well trained with methodologies in agricultural economics and management skills in Agribusiness, student should have the ability of independently analyzing and solving problems in agricultural economic field with innovative spirits and practical abilities. Specifically, graduates should have the following knowledge and skills:
（1）掌握管理科学和经济科学的基本理论、基本知识，具有相关的农林科学知识和较宽广的人文、社会科学知识；
The students should know the basic principal of management and economics, have wide knowledge of agricultural and social science;
（2）掌握社会调查、技术经济分析、经济核算、农林企业经营管理等有关农林经济管理问题的定性与定量分析方法；
The students are trained with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. They should be qualified to conduct a social survey，to do some evaluation and accounting job, as well as some managing work in an agribusiness;
（3）具备涉农企业经营与管理、农产品物流与营销、农技推广与示范、村镇建设与规划、政策研究与设计等方面的基本技能；
The students must have some professional skills about agribusiness management, agricultural logistics, agricultural marketing, agro-technical extension, villages construction planning and policy design;
（4）了解农林经济科学的理论前沿和农林业企业经营管理的发展动态，熟悉国内外关于农业和农村经济发展的方针、政策和法规；
The students have to keep track of the latest developments in Agro-Forestry Economics and Management, be familiar with the foreign and domestic agricultural policies;
（5）具有计算机应用、信息收集与处理能力，较好的语言和文字表达能力，组织与协调能力，独立分析和解决农林经济管理实际问题的能力；
The students should be capable to use computer for information collecting and analyzing, have very goog written and communication skill, and the ability to conduct a scientific research independently;
（6）具有较高的外语（英语）阅读和沟通能力。
The students should have a sound grounding of English language in writing and communicating.
