General Objectives
培养的学生身心健康、知识结构合理，有健全的人格、高尚的人文情怀和社会责任感，有一定的批判思维与创新能力、科学研究能力、语言文字表达能力、终身学习能力和组织管理能力，具有国际视野和团队合作精神。
Students are nurtured to be both physically and psychologically healthy. They are expected to have a wholesome personality, a value for humanistic pursuits, and a sense of social responsibility, as well as the ability to think critically and innovatively, good writing and communication skills, an orientation towards life-long learning, and a proficiency in organization and management. Moreover, they should have an international mindset and be able to work well in a team context.

本专业培养适应市场经济发展和经济全球化需要的德、智、体、美全面发展的，具备扎实的经济学基本理论，掌握市场经济运行和现代企业经营管理基本知识，了解中国经济体制改革历程和国内外学术动态，，熟练应用现代经济学的主要分析方法和计算机技术手段进行社会经济调查、经济预测、分析、规划、策划等基本技能的复合型、创新性、国际化专门人才。
In order to adapt the need of China's market economy development and economic globalization, this program is designed to cultivate professionals with comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, and esthetical education; with solid theoretical foundation of economics and management; and basic knowledge of market economy and modern enterprise management; known about reform process of Chinese economic system and the frontier theories and development in this discipline; and with professional skill of socio-economic surveys, economic forecasting, analysis, planning and other using economic methods and computer techniques.

本专业要求学生系统掌握微观经济学、宏观经济学、资源与环境经济学、区域经济学等相关基础理论，受到现代经济学分析方法的基本训练，具备以下几个方面的知识和能力：
1．掌握经济学的基本理论和分析方法；
2．熟悉市场经济运行机制和现代企业经营管理的基本理论和方法；
3、熟练应用现在经济分析方法，计算机应用技术，对社会经济进行调查、分析、预测、规划、策划等实际操作能力；
4．掌握文献检索、资料查询的基本方法，了解中外经济学学术动态及应用前景；了解中国经济体制改革实践和经济发展过程，熟悉党和国家的经济方针、政策和法规；
5．能够熟练地掌握一门外语，具有听说读写译等综合应用能力。
The students are required to have a systematic mastery of political economics, population, resource and environmental economics, regional economics, business administration and other related theories, with professional training of modern economic analysis and method, and also have the following knowledge and capacity:
1. Grasp Marxist economics, the basic theories and analysis methods of modern western economics;
2. Familiar with the basic theories and methods in the field of operational mechanism of market economy and modern business management;
3. Have the practical capability for socio-economic survey，economic forecasting, analysis, planning and other, using quantitative economic methods and computer and other modern techniques.
